A nightclub owner was injured in a shooting incident in Haryana’s Panchkula late Wednesday night after two armed assailants allegedly opened fire on him outside his establishment in Sector 5. The victim, Rattan Lubana, was attacked around midnight while leaving the club. Police said multiple rounds were fired during the incident, and Lubana sustained a bullet injury.
According to police, the attackers arrived on a motorcycle and fired repeatedly before fleeing the scene toward the Yamunanagar highway. Witnesses stated that the assailants dropped ammunition while attempting to reload their weapon during their escape. The incident prompted an immediate police response after information was relayed by personnel present nearby.
A detective staff member reportedly began pursuing the suspects, leading to the deployment of multiple police units, including the Crime Branch and Anti-Narcotics Cell. Police established blockades at key locations, including near the Mattawala flyover, as efforts were launched to intercept the fleeing attackers.
During the pursuit, the suspects allegedly fired at police personnel and targeted a police vehicle near Bela Vista Chowk and Nada Sahib. Police said no officers were injured in the firing. The chase later resulted in an exchange of fire during which both suspects sustained injuries to their legs before being taken into custody.
The arrested individuals were identified as Jaswinder from Ludhiana and Harpreet from Hoshiarpur. Police said two semi-automatic pistols were recovered from them and estimated that around 18 rounds were fired during the incident. The injured accused were first taken to a hospital in Panchkula and later referred to PGI Chandigarh. Investigators are examining the motive behind the attack and any wider links connected to the case.
